I have never been shown the proper way to put on eye makeup.  I've always just kind of brushed it on not using more than 1 shade of eyeshadow.  Are their any websites out there for applying eye makeup?  Not necessarily just the gothy way of applying it either.  Just some basics so I can experiment on how to do it and make it look natural , tips for eyeliner would be healpful too.  I prefer the smokey eye look and use mostly light to dark-grey, and a couple silvers as far as my shadow collection.  Also, don't know if this helps but I have VERY few eyelashes on my bottom lid....they're mostly in the outside corners of my lower lid.  Any and all help is always appreciated.  Thanks! ~fallenAngel

I can completely understand...  It's not that I apply makeup poorly, it's just that I only really know one way to apply it (i.e. one color over entire lid, sometimes highlighting under the browbone).  So, I went out and bought myself a copy of the late, great Kevyn Aucoin's making Faces book.  It has lots of great makeup application techniques, ranging from the simple and natural to glam and more advanced.  I would highly recommend this book! You also might explain your dilemma at a makeup counter (even better, Sephora!) and have an artist make you up.  I did it at Sephora while I was in Hollywood visiting a friend recently.  A really nice Iman makeup artist helped me out. On Monday, my hubby took me to the City for my birthday (City being San Fran). I made it a point to drag his kindly arse to 1 Stockton st to Sephora. Alas, they couldn't give me a makeover (and show me the *proper* way to do smokey eye) , because they were having a meeting, and they only had one person on the floor. On a better note, the trip to Good Vibrations (www.goodvibes.com) erased the dissapointment from my mind
