O:snake Why did God make the snake?

God created the snake. God knew what the snake was going to do AND he knew what Adam and Eve would do when the snake tempted them. Why did God do it? LL: He needed a rationale for Original Sin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yixAOfyAXoY **** Genesis 3 1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'? 2 The woman said to the serpent, We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' 4 You will not surely die, the serpent said to the woman. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. **** God created the snake. God knew what the snake was going to do AND he knew what Adam and Eve would do when the snake tempted them. Why did God do it? [I want a bumper sticker... God created the snake ]

God created the snake. God knew what the snake was going to do AND he knew what Adam and Eve would do when the snake tempted them. Why did God do it? Consider: God judged it better to bring good out of evil than to suffer no evil to exist. - Saint Augustine Except that is an assumptive rationalization and not even what happened by your own story. According to your story it was evil born out of good, not the other way around. [I want a bumper sticker... God created the snake ] You left out a part of the story; God had previously provided the knowledge/information by which Adam and Eve could successfully avoid the temptation: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. [1] But God apparently failed (key word: FAILED) to make is wise enough to heed his word over a snake's. God bears no culpability for Adam and Eve's sin. Except by almost all definitions of culpability, he is. Regards, Brock [1]http://www.carm.org/kjv/Gen/Gen_2.htmGen 2:17

You left out a part of the story; God had previously provided the knowledge/information by which Adam and Eve could successfully avoid the temptation: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. [1] Yes, we all know god lied about the apple. So now you've confirmed that your god is a liar. So he creates two people with free will and a 'snake' who tempts them with the truth, then claims he's not responsible when the defy him. Sorry brocko, sounds a bit too clinton- esque for me to follow blindly.
